Slightly outdated but good for the price

This is a pretty okay book to have in your power supply design library. Yeah it’s outdated a bit, but the second edition is not too bad, especially considering the low price of used copies. The second edition has a section on mag-amps, which was a pleasant surprise.

Excellent even if a bit dated.

Books on Switching converter technology tend to be very dense from the beginning, overwhelming the reader with equations before even understanding topologies. This books bridges the gap as it does just that, start slowly and methodically explaining the basics and developing the analysis in that fashion. It is a great way to start understanding deeply before you break out the equations and attempt your first prototype.
