I think we can all agree that there is an overwhelming number of new beauty launches at the moment. It seems that every brand under the sun is coming out with something new this season. As a beauty editor, I get so many press releases and product samples every week that I’ve resorted to making an entire spreadsheet just to keep on top of what launches I really want to share with you. It doesn’t happen often, but there’s been one product that I’ve been waiting to try for months, ever since I heard that it was in the works.
What product could this be, I hear you ask? Well, if you’ve read my articles for a while, then you’ll know that I love a natural, glowy makeup look, and foundation isn’t my usual product of choice. However, there’s one brand that I reach for time and time again when my skin needs a boost. Yep, I’m talking about Jones Road. If you didn’t know, Jones Road is the brainchild of industry icon Bobbi Brown. After selling her eponymous makeup brand to Estée Lauder Companies back in 1995, the makeup artist went on to create Jones Road in 2020, and it is everything that I hoped it would be. Known for her no-makeup makeup looks, Jones Road is all about high-performing, easy-to-use formulas that enhance your natural features and make you feel like you, but on a really good day.
The brand already has a foundation as part of the product lineup, but I’ve been patiently waiting for something a little lighter that I can reach for daily in the spring and summer months. Enter, the new tinted moisturiser. Here at Who What Wear UK, we are always sharing the best tinted moisturisers and skin tints with you, from tinted moisturisers for mature skin to drugstore tinted moisturisers and more. However, this Jones Road launch might be my new favourite. Keep on scrolling for my full review…
Jones Road Beauty Just Enough Tinted Moisturiser Review
Jones Road
Just Enough Tinted Moisturiser
The Formula
So, what makes this formula so great? First of all, it’s incredibly lightweight and practically feels like nothing on the skin. In fact, it’s been designed to make it look like you aren’t wearing anything at all. Rather than providing heavy coverage, this tinted moisturiser works to even out your skin tone and lightly conceal any discolouration or redness. I like to think of it as a blurring Instagram filter in a tube.
As the name suggests, this product is also incredibly moisturising. The formula is enriched with hyaluronic acid to hydrate the skin and protect the skin’s moisture barrier from water loss. It’s suitable for all skin types and comes in 16 different shades, with a range of shades for different skin tones on offer.
The Application
Another great thing about this product is that it’s so easy to apply. In fact, since using it, my morning makeup routine has become so much quicker. The brand recommends applying the product directly to your face and then either using your fingers or a brush to blend it in. I’ve tried both methods, and although it looks super natural when blended in with the fingers, I prefer using a brush, as otherwise it can get a little messy.
I have combination skin, with dry patches on my cheeks and near my undereyes, but this formula is so creamy that it didn’t cling to the skin or exacerbate my dry areas. Instead, it glided on and created the smoothest, natural-looking finish. One thing I was a little bit worried about was whether it would become oily or greasy throughout the day, but unlike other tinted moisturisers I have tried, this has a demi-matte finish, so it worked perfectly for me.
The Results
As you can see, this tinted moisturiser is practically undetectable on the skin. What I loved when testing it was that it helped to blur out any redness or discolouration while still letting my natural skin texture shine through. All I did was add a little bit of concealer to my under eyes alongside my favourite Jones Road blusher, and the base of my makeup was done in five minutes flat.
So, how did it wear throughout the day? I’ve tried tinted moisturisers in the past that have looked great in the morning, but by the time I’m home from work, they either look super greasy or have rubbed off altogether. However, I was impressed with this formula’s lasting powers. My makeup stayed in place all day long, and my skin still looked radiant when I walked in the door hours after leaving. One thing I will say is that I did have to powder my complexion a little bit throughout the day, but I do have a very oily T-zone, so this was to be expected. All in all, I’ve fallen head over heels for this product and can see myself reaching for it all the time during the spring and summer months.
