Toyota of Erie left its longtime dealership building in Millcreek Township in October in a move that saw the owners, the Preston Auto Group, relocate south of Interstate 90 in Summit Township.
Although the parking lot and the showroom are empty now, look for some activity this week at the former dealership, located at 5615 Peach St.
Car lifts, tires and furniture among items to be sold
Conneaut Lake-based Triple States Family Auctions on Wednesday will sell the remaining contents of the dealership, including 15 lifts that were used to elevate cars in the former dealership’s repair shop.
“There’s a lot of stuff,” said Tom Abbott, owner of Triple States Auction Service.
“There’s something for anyone if you need lifts, tools, office furniture, tires, shelves or a lot of other stuff,” he said.
Heavy tools being sold include a brake lathe and a sandblast cabinet.
What’s the plan for the dealership property?
The on-site auction will begin at 4 p.m. and is expected to last two hours or more.
So, what’s next for the 49,700-square-foot building, which is located on a little more than five acres of property?
The property, owned by LECOM Health and located near other LECOM facilities, including Millcreek Community Hospital, isn’t listed for sale.
“LECOM has no immediate plans for the property,” said LECOM spokesman Matthew Bresee.
From October: Toyota of Erie moves south on Peach to new Summit Township location
Toyota of Erie, owned since 2020 by the New Castle-based Preston Auto Group, moved because of space considerations, spokeswoman Amanda Waters said in October.
“We needed to expand and make sure we are able to serve our customers,” she said.
