'Stop, Stop, Stop': Officials Investigating After Private Jet and Airliner Have Close Encounter

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said it is investigating an incident in which a private jet appeared to move too close to an airliner as it was taking off from Los Angeles International Airport on Friday, December 27, according to reports.

The private jet, which was carrying the Gonzaga University men’s basketball team, “proceeded to cross the hold bars,” prompting air traffic controllers to order the pilots to halt, the FAA told the Los Angeles Times. “The jet never crossed the runway edge line,” the FAA said.

Airline Video Live captured this footage of the incident in a livestream. In the video, a controller can be heard saying “stop, stop, stop” as the smaller jet can be seen nearing the runway where the Delta plane was taking off.
